Following Pentecost, the Bible says believers continued to meet together in each other’s homes, sharing food and caring for one another. As these small groups of Christ followers shared their life together, their witness earned the respect of the entire community. As a result, Acts 2:47 says, “the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Gathering in small groups similar to first century Christians will help you grow in your faith. We all need a group of friends to walk with us through life. Life groups were created to give individuals an opportunity to gather and share life together as they grow spiritually.
Life groups meet in member’s homes and at church throughout the week and are ongoing throughout the year. Our life groups are always open to new members, so that you can connect at any time! Contact the leader for more information on their group and meeting location. If you would like more general information about life groups, contact Larry Jacob at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our group is comprised of middle-aged couples.
Various days & times once a month
Our diverse life group meets during the second service at church to support each other as we seek to grow in our relationship with God and change to be more like Him. Typically each week we check on each other’s lives, discuss the message and pray.
Our group is comprised of women who are single, divorced, widowed, or married but husband does not attend church. We meet in the Prayer Room at GPN. We share life in Jesus together through prayer requests, discussing the sermons, and meeting occasionally to serve our local community or enjoy a movie or lunch together.
1st & 3rd Sundays
Our group is comprised of couples with kids in elementary, middle, and high school.
Sundays once a month
Our Life Group meets several times a month to pray, fellowship and learn more from God’s love story to us, the Bible. Our group has been meeting for several years at various homes on Sunday evenings and is made up of some couples and some singles. We currently do not have any members with young children in our group. We do a variety of studies from opening God’s word and dissecting it chapter and verse, to topical studies, to study guides and DVD series (such as Andy Stanley). We do have several social events throughout the year just for fun.
Our group meets bimonthly for dinner, study, and prayer. We are helping each other to advance God’s work and apply His power to the challenges and concerns in our lives and those around us. We are mostly empty-nesters, both single and couples. Occasionally we do other activities or host missionaries at our meeting.
We are a group of Christ followers including married and single, 40+ in age (but open to all), who meet biweekly at the Church to study biblical issues via study guides or books. Discussion focuses not just on the text, but how to apply it to our lives. We share life together through prayer, informal conversations, and occasional social activities such as barbecues and a Christmas party. We also do various service projects — either in the community or through the church. Projects that involve members’ children are preferred, such as volunteering at WAR Boutique. No child care, but perfect for the parent who is dropping their child off at the church for youth group activities.
Topical studies on faith, forgiveness & humility.
Our group is comprised of couples with kids in high school and college.
3rd or 4th Sundays
We are a diverse group made up of couples with older kids and empty nesters.
Our life group meets biweekly in our home for prayer, study and fellowship. Our members are a 60 + age group.
Our group is comprised of singles and couples and is open to all who are looking for fellowship. We are mostly seniors (not by design – but by age) but anyone is welcome. We meet twice a month from September through May on Friday or Sunday evenings at 7 PM. Our time together starts with fellowship and light snacks, 45 to 60 minutes of bible study (currently studying James) and prayer. Fellowship generally continues for a while after the meeting.
Our Life Group couples enjoy fellowshipping together (often over food), encouraging and supporting one another, as we discuss current life topics with scripture as the basis. We lift the needs of the group and their families up in prayer. Our members are of the age where our children are grown so child care is not provided. We generally meet 2x per month in our various homes around Naperville.
Our Life Group is a collection of married couples seeking to live life together through prayer, fellowship, and reaching out to our community. We are peer-driven and seek to learn more about God’s plan for our lives through studying the Bible, studies in books, and other areas of interest.
1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the Month
Our life group seeks to grow in community and in relationship with Christ through the study of scripture, prayer, & fellowship. We meet during AWANA in the Chapel. We are currently couples of families with children in AWANA.
Wednesdays during AWANA
We are a bunch of 50-somethings that dig into the previous Sunday’s sermon in our life group meetings. We meet 2 or 3 times per month so call to confirm our schedule!
